If you only copyright your name or emblem without trademarking it, you will not be able to adequately protect it against infringement. You're just safeguarding your rights to it because you produced it and it's your intellectual property. A trademark can protect your company's name and logo in the event that someone else decides to use them for their own reasons. Furthermore, because copyright protects artistic creations, a name cannot be truly copied. This is why you need a trademark to safeguard your company's intellectual property, such as its logo.
