OBC: Legal query

Sir ,I applied for a central government exam of UDC (upper division clerk) as a OBC (non creamy layer)candidate in 2015 and I am having non creamy layer OBC certificate of dec 2015. Exam is single stage written exam (one objective type paper). On the basis of this paper merit will be prepared. This month result of exam came,I secured marks more than the cut of of UR category, but now my family income crossed the non creamy layer income limit. I want to know that am I eligible to take OBC reservation now or not? or I will be considered as a UR candidate as isecured more marks than UR cut off and no need to show any OBC certificate?

Hi,

It is general rule that is followed that If the person of any reservation class secured the marks of the general merit list then the person will not be considered in any of the class for that particular exam. Therefore, I will suggest you that there is no need to attach the OBC certificate as you will be considered as UR.
