How to file an RTI against a private body?

I am not really sure about it, but, i think only private bodies which are owned, controlled or substantially financed by the government are covered by RTI directly. if a government department can acess the information of any private body under any other Act, then, a citizen can, thus, indirectly access the info of the company through that goverment dept.

First it should be tried to establish whether the private body has been availing any benefit/ grant/ aid from government in terms of anything, then only application would be addressed by RTI. Otherwise private bodies are not dealt under the act of RTI.
