The Child Marriage Prohibition Act applies to Muslims as well. No where in the Act does it provide that it will not be applicable to Muslims. The Muslim Personal Board has had issues with this legislation as it is seen as an attempt to introduce the uniform civil code. The Delhi High Court in Mohammed Nihal vs. State [2008 (4) Crimes (HC) 650 (Del)] has clearly identified that the Act applies to Muslims as well.
