Advocate's fee

I am a medical student...going through a divorce. I have filed 2 cases... 1 case for maintenance and 1 case for divorce. And now..its getting settled in mediation. How much is the usual pay for an advocate? No hearing was done. So how much does it cost?

It totally depends upon advocate to advocate. If you have already fixed any fees, then you have to pay, otherwise you can always negotiate.

I am assuming you must have fixed a fee for the lawyer for filing the case, and arguing it. In this case, you can pay proportionate fee to her/him. There is no average fee for lawyers generally recognised in across India, and the same would depend on the region you filed the case in, the costs to be incurred by your lawyer, the complexity of the case, etc.
